Fenway Sports Group y Liverpool FC confirmaron hoy que Ian Ayre fue nombrado como nuevo Director General del club y Damien Comolli fue promovido a Director de Futbol.

Ayre habia sido Director Comercial del club desde Julio del 2007, por su parte Comolli habia sido Director de Estrategia Futbolistica desde Noviembre del año pasado.

New England Sports Ventures (NESV) oficialmente cambio su nombre a Fenway Sports Group (FSG).

Ian Ayre hoy declaro que no van a considerar sponsors para el cambio del nombre del estadio, aunque confirmo que el equipo estaria mirando esa posibilidad si se llegara a mudar a otro estadio.

Luego explico que ninguna decision se ha confirmado, pero se siguen analizando opciones para renovar Anfield o mudarse a otro estadio en Stanley Park.

El club anuncia en su página web, que este verano de nuevo haremos la gira asiática por China, Malasia y Korea. Patrocinada por Standard Chartered, esta pretemporada de nuevo gira por estos paises asiaticos donde el Liverpool cuenta con multitud de seguidores, en el mes de Julio y con las fechas pendientes de determinar.

Liverpool FC is delighted to announce the Club will be travelling to Asia this summer for a pre-season tour sponsored by Standard Chartered that will include games in China, Malaysia and Korea.

The Reds enjoy fantastic support in Asia and this summer's visit follows the hugely successful 10-day pre-season tour of Thailand and Singapore in 2009.

The team will take on opposition in Guangzhou, play a game in Kuala Lumpur, and then move to Seoul for the final fixture of the three-match tour in July.

"Whenever we go to Asia, the fans are always amazing," said Liverpool FC captain Steven Gerrard. "The supporters over there are fanatical about Liverpool and it's great that we can give so many of them a chance to come and watch the team play."

The Club's Managing Director Ian Ayre said: "The last tour in 2009 was a real success and we're delighted that we are returning this summer after a break last year due to the FIFA World Cup. Nothing beats watching the team live and by visiting China, Malaysia and Korea, we are allowing fans from all three countries to experience just that. We will work closely with our main sponsor Standard Chartered and our other partners in the region to ensure we can deliver our best ever pre-season tour."

Gavin Laws, Group Head of Corporate Affairs at Standard Chartered, said: "We are very excited about Liverpool FC's Asia tour. El gran mito Robbie Fowler ha vuelto a entrenar con el Liverpool. No es para quedarse sino para mantener la forma de cara a la próxima temporada que será su última temporada como jugador en activo y que seguirá en el equipo de la liga Australiana Perth Glory, luego pasará a desempeñar labores de técnico y espero que sea aqui, en su casa en el Liverpool. Entrena con el equipo de los reservas y Pep Segura, dice que es encomiable como se sigue entregando en cada entreno y que puede aportar mucho a los jovenes que forman parte de Melwood. Que grande fué, es y será el gran Robbie y que alegría me dá verte de vuelta por Anfield aunque sea para entrenar.

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has made a sensational return to his former club after a spell playing in the Australian A-League.

The ex-Reds striker who now plays for Perth Glory has been training with Liverpool in a bid to maintain his fitness during the close-season.

With the new campaign not due to start until October, Fowler has joined the backroom staff at League One side MK Dons, and will also spend time at League Two Bury assisting caretaker manager Richie Barker in a coaching capacity.

But despite having taken some steps towards becoming a coach after he retires, Liverpool's former No.9 is set to play out one more season in Australia before hanging up his boots once and for all.




Anfield coach Pep Segura spoke of his great admiration for Fowler who displayed a 'great attitude' as he trained with the reserve team squad yesterday.

"It is beneficial to Robbie because we can help him stay sharp. He is a professional and his behaviour on the pitch was fantastic."

And the Spaniard believes that Robbie's presence can have a significant impact on Liverpool's promising youngsters.

"Everybody responded well and it was a great moment for them to have the chance to train with a Liverpool legend.

"His attitude was great and he was the perfect example for our lads. He will train with us again and could be with us for the week that follows."

Liverpool al parecer firmó contrato con la marca Warrior para que haga los uniformes del equipo desde la temporada 2012/2013. Warrior pagaría 25 millones de libras, Adidas paga 12 millones.

La noticia la sacó Times pero hay que pagar para ver la dichosa web.

Que raro, yo había leído que todavía no estaba confirmado. Es un notición, a mi me gusta mucho Adidas, pero si Warrior paga más, yo no dudo.

Pues son 25 kilos, más del doble de lo que pone Adidas y eso es mucho dinero pero como la ropa sea tan porquería como la que he visto por internet.... me callo. Es una empresa Venezolana, veremos que pasa y que sacan. Y a ver si lo confirma la página web del Club.

Es una empresa gringa con sede en Boston y que además es parte de New Balance, si es cierto que se firmó seriamos el primer equipo de futbol al que viste y de más decirlo que el cliente más importante. Hasta ahora se han dedicado a uniformes y accesorios de Lacrosse y Hockey sobre hielo.

A ver si se hace oficial.

Pepe Reina sigue diciendo que está contento, tranquilo y bien en el Liverpool. Y que su continuidad depende de que los nuevos dueños presenten un buen proyecto y sobretodo ambicioso. Cosa que creo se está haciendo, desde luego a mi personalmente me encanta el proyecto de los nuevos dueños y es ambicioso, , dice que se traerán jugadores importantes y que en dos años llevarán de nuevo al lugar que corresponde al Liverpool, así que según sus palabras se quedaría pero de momento esto es lo que ha dicho. Tb dice que no irá al Manchester y que Dalglish es el jefe ideal para dirigir al Liverpool en estos momentos. Así que no clo confirma definitivamente pero sus palabras me hacen tener muchas esperanzas de que se quedará con nosotros. Aunque hasta que no lo confirme, no lo celebro.

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has pledged his immediate future to the club.

The 28-year-old had been linked with moves to Arsenal and Manchester United and after an uncertain season at Anfield rumours have swelled that the Spaniard's career on Merseyside could be coming to an end.

But the stopper has moved to quash such talk.

“I’m happy, calm and comfortable here,” he said.

“I will continue working so we can win more games.

“I’m looking towards the future which I reckon will bring a lot of happiness and hopefully the new project with the new American owners will be a convincing one – attractive and ambitious above all.

"It’s my understanding that we will be bringing in some important players, continuing to grow and hopefully in one or two years we will be in the place that Liverpool deserves to be, which is fighting for titles.

“I am not going to Manchester, that is not my intention.

“I imagine they’ve been monitoring and following many keepers.

“Benitez is the person who brought me here, but this does not mean that I am uncomfortable with Dalglish.

“On the contrary, I think he is the ideal manager for Liverpool at the moment."

The news will come as a welcome boost to fans of The Reds as Dalglish attempts to build a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title and Champions League qualification.

Glen Johnson, ha dicho que desde que llegó King Kenny, se está haciendo el mejor futbol desde que él( G Johnson) llegó al Club en el 2009. Glen Johnson believes getting the players smiling again has been the key to Kenny Dalglish's success in his second stint as Liverpool manager.


The Reds have scored in every league match since Dalglish returned to the dugout and a 3-0 victory over Newcastle at the weekend lifted them into a European spot.

Johnson thinks Liverpool are playing their best football since he arrived in 2009 - something he attributes to a new spirit in the dressing room.

"Since I've been here we've had good and bad times but with the last few games you could say this is the best we've played," the full-back told Liverpoolfc.tv.

"Kenny has just brought the belief back, let the lads enjoy themselves and training has been good. The lads are happy day-to-day and look forward to the games.

"He's given us a bit of confidence and put a smile back on the lads' faces.

"We've got a great bunch of lads here. On and off the pitch we work hard for each other and off the pitch we're enjoying life with each other as well. It's a good group of boys."

Sunday's victory saw Liverpool leapfrog Tottenham into fifth place, and though Spurs have a game in hand, Johnson is confident he and his teammates can hold on to secure European football next season.

"There is definitely a feeling in the dressing room that we can stay there," he said.

"It bodes well for next season. With the confidence we've got now we'll try and finish the season strongly and start where we leave off next season."

Jay Spearing today admitted he was 'buzzing' after signing a new Liverpool contract - and immediately thanked Kenny Dalglish for giving him the chance to realise his Anfield dreams.

Spearing put pen to paper on an extended contract earlier today as he committed his future to the club he has been at since the age of seven.

After spending many years attempting to push through into the first team plans, Spearing has finally achieved his ambitions and is now looking forward to a bright future with the Reds.



"I am buzzing to be honest," he told Liverpoolfc.tv. "I'm pleased to have finally put pen to paper and got everything sorted.

"I've been here for a long time and playing for Liverpool is all I have ever wanted to do, so hopefully I can keep going now.

"It has been a long time coming. I've been in the background and in and around the first team and maybe not had a run in the team, but now I'm getting that run I've been able to show my desire and commitment to the club.

"I owe a lot to the boss and hopefully I am repaying him with the games I am playing. He put me into the derby straightaway and that gave me a lot of confidence. Any player who has the belief of the manager always wants to go on and show what he can do.

"With the new boss coming in and the way we have been playing and with me getting some game time, it has been a good couple of months and this has topped it off for me."

While it has been a breakthrough season for Spearing on a personal level, he insists his only focus now is to help ensure he and his teammates finish the campaign as high as possible in the league table - and hopefully secure European qualification for next season in the process.

"We have a game at Fulham on Monday but the way we are playing and the form we are in, there is no reason why we can't go and get the three points and keep the pressure on Tottenham," he added.

"The first half of the season didn't go as well as we had planned but we have now showed what we can do.

"I knew at some point it would happen for me if I kept working hard in training and kept showing people what I could do. Thankfully it has come now."

Kenny Dalglish seguirá los próximos tres años dirigiendo al Liverpool

Llegó al banquillo ‘red’ en enero para reemplazar a Roy Hodgson por la mala marcha del equipo y en principio se tenia que quedar solo en junio

Kenny Dalglish ha firmado un contrato de tres años para entrenar al Liverpool, a cuyo banquillo llegó en enero para reemplazar a Roy Hodgson por la mala marcha del equipo. Dalglish, leyenda en Anfield por su trayectoria como jugador y entrenador, se comprometió inicialmente a dirigir al club hasta junio, pero los buenos resultados desde enero, cuando el Liverpool estuvo cerca del descenso, han puesto de acuerdo a las partes.

A falta de dos jornadas para el final de la Premier y después de perder a jugadores como Fernando Torres, el Liverpool es quinto, lo que le dará la opción de jugar la Liga Europa la temporada que viene, con la Liga de Campeones fuera de su alcance. El dueño principal de los "reds", John Henry, manifestó al anunciar el acuerdo que "Kenny es una figura legendaria del Liverpool, tanto de jugador como de entrenador".

"Desde su regreso en enero, ha demostrado un liderazgo extraordinario y la capacidad de lograr lo máximo de mucha gente asociada al club. Para nosotros fue muy obvio desde el principio que el entorno del club se ha transformado con su presencia", dijo. "Este es un club de fútbol único y estoy encantado de tener la oportunidad de ayudar a construir aquí algo especial", añadió el técnico escocés, cuya relación con el Liverpool empezó en 1977, cuando fue fichado procedente del Celtic de Glasgow. Desde entonces, como jugador ganó cinco títulos de Liga con el Liverpool (1979, 1980, 1982, 1983 y 1984), tres Copas de Europa (1978, 1981 y 1984) y una Supercopa de Europa (1978).

En su primera etapa como entrenador, sumó otros tres títulos de Liga (1986, 1988 y 1990) y dos de Copa (1986 y 1989). La de 1990 fue la última Liga de los "reds", que este año serán previsiblemente superados en número de títulos por el Manchester United, que está a las puertas del decimonoveno título. En su trayectoria como técnico, hay que sumar otro título importante, la Liga que ganó con el Blackburn Rovers en 1995.

Y siguen las buenas noticias, después de la grandisima noticia de la renovación de el gran Kenny, ahora Pepe Reina, asegura que no se mueve de Anfield . El portero internacional del Liverpool, Pepe Reina, ha confirmado que la próxima temporada no se moverá del club, una continuidad que no aseguraba hace unos meses, pero de la que ya no tiene dudas porque el conjunto inglés ha dado "los pasos adecuados en la buena dirección" desde la llegada al banquillo de Kenny Dalglish, que acaba de renovar hasta 2014.

"Siempre he dicho que estaba deseando que llegara la próxima temporada. Por supuesto que hubo algo de duda en diciembre y enero porque no estábamos como ahora, pero después de dar los pasos adecuados todos podemos ver la diferencia entre antes y ahora. Por eso, somos optimistas respecto al futuro", señaló Reina en declaraciones a la televisión del Liverpool recogidas por Europa Press.

El portero se alegró por las "excelentes noticias de Kenny Dalglish", que ha renovado con la entidad 'red', a la que llegó en sustitución de Roy Hodgson. Desde la presencia en el banquillo del exdelantero, el Liverpool ha tomado "la dirección adecuada", hasta el punto de que se ha aupado hasta la quinta posición tras un inicio de temporada en la que coqueteó con los puestos de descenso.

"Estoy realmente feliz y mis compañeros también. Sonreimos, y esperamos que sea por mucho tiempo. Por supuesto, tenemos que estar tranquilos porque sabemos lo difícil que es competir con los grandes equipos que nos enfrentamos", señaló Reina, contento por la quinta posición, pero con ganas de "luchar por puestos más altos la próxima temporada".

El Liverpool recibe este domingo en la penúltima jornada al Tottenham, su rival por la quinta plaza y al que le saca un punto. "Si ganamos, tendremos el objetivo asegurado matemáticamente, jugar en Europa la próxima temporada. Luego descansaremos, que nos lo hemos merecido", concluyó el guardameta.
