El capitán de la selección serbia es pretendido por el Racing de Santander, pero los 'Wolves' van a aumentar su apuesta por el centrocampista.

Ya es sabido que el mercado de fichajes puede dar sorpresas en apenas minutos. Cuando el Racing de Santander estaba casi disfrutando del fichaje de Nenad Milijas, el Wolverhampton Wanderers ha vuelto al ataque y ya todo puede pasar.

Los 'Wolves' podrían firmar un contrato de cuatro años con el capitán de la selección serbia y figura del Estrella Roja de Belgrado, equipo al que le quedarían 4,7 millones de euros por la operación.

El centrocampista, de 26 años, había sido recomendado a la directiva cántabra nada menos que por Nikola Zigic.

Milijas planta al Racing y ficha por el Wolverhampton

Después de haber seducido durante semanas al equipo de Santanader, el centrocampista serbio ha firmado un contrato de cuatro años con el club inglés.

Que si se mudaba al Racing, que si prefería la Premier. Se ha terminado la novela y Nenad Milijas se ha convertido en nuevo jugador del recién ascendido Wolverhampton.

El centrocampista había recibido el sondeo del equipo sardinero en las últimas semanas y se esperaba que su excelente relación de amistad con Nikola Zigic sería un factor determinante, tanto para su adaptación al fútbol español como para convencerse en su decisión.

Sin embargo, La estrella serbia optó por moverse al club inglés por una cifra que no se ha dado a conocer, pero se estima que se acerca a los cuatro millones de euros. Después de haberse dejado querer por el conjunto sardinero, el centrocampista procedente del Estrella Roja firmó un contrato de cuatro años con su nuevo club.

"Estamos realmente orgullosos de haber iniciado nuestro verano con la incorporación de Nenad Milijas", informaron los Wolves desde su sitio oficial.

According to a report emanating from Sky Sports, Wolverhampton Wanderers have agreed to pay the minimum fee release clause in Kevin Doyle's Reading contract.

It is thought that the 25-year-old is free to negotiate terms with any club willing to pay £6.5 million for his services, and Wolves are said to have made that offer.

Apparently, the 6ft 1in striker could have already entered into talks with Wolves manager Mick McCarthy.

While the Premier League newcomers may be leading the race for the 26-time capped Republic of Ireland international, other teams in England's top-flight, such as Everton, may also be ready to launch a bid.

Doyle has already enjoyed two campaigns in the Premier League, scoring 19 goals during the 2006/07 and 2007/08 campaigns, while he bagged 18 goals in the Championship last season.

Kevin Doyle appears to be moving closer to a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers as Reading accepted Wolves' £6.5 million bid for their star striker, according to The Reading Chronicle.

Doyle has already spoken with Wolves officials to discuss some initial terms, but now that the clubs have agreed on his valuation he is free to discuss personal terms with the Midlands outfit.

McCarthy has been seeking to link up Doyle, who scored 13 goals in his first Premier League season in 2006-07, with Sylvan Ebanks-Blake. The latter was prolific in the Championship last year and McCarthy will hope that the duo can fire Wolves to Premier League safety next season.

A deal for Doyle has to be completed first, however. The Irishman was an absolute bargain as he cost just £78,000 from Cork City in 2005 and his valuation has risen hugely after his goal scoring exploits in the top two tiers of English football.

Despite the high valuation, Wolves have met it and Royals' boss Brendan Rodgers is resigned to the player's departure.

Premier League new boys Wolverhampton Wanderers have secured another important player to a new contract, with defender Jody Craddock penning a new deal.

The central defender has signed a one-year extension to his deal at Molineux, and will provide good top flight experience for the club as they prepare for life in the Premier League.

Craddock has been playing for the Midlands club for the past six years, and has become a major part of their defence.

The 33-year-old only played 17 times for the club last season, with 11 of those coming in the run up to the end of the season.

The former Sunderland man has stated that signing his new contract is one of the greatest moments in his football career.

Speaking to the club's official website, Craddock said, "I'm delighted to sign the new deal. It's probably one of the biggest achievements of my career.
"Hopefully, the experience I've got will help around the place."


The defender played for Wolves during their 2003/2004 Premier League campaign, when the club were relegated back down to the Championship, but Craddock still feels his experience could be helpful to the team.

"I feel like I've got more experience than the last times I've been in the Premier League.
"The older you get, the more experienced you get, which certainly helps, but it also becomes harder physically and you have to work that much more to stay at that level."

Wolves have also recently secured the future of Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, with the striker now contracted to the club until 2013.

According to The Mirror, McCarthy is in a hurry to sign Leko and has put in a €1.7 million bid, with a view to completing the signing within the week.

The 29-year-old Croatian international is on the transfer list at Monaco, and is said to be keen on a switch to the Premier League.

In addition to his 57 caps for Croatia, Leko has made 81 appearances for Monaco, scoring four goals.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed the signing of Kevin Doyle from Championship club Reading as they prepare for life in the Premier League.

A statement on the club's official website reads, "Wolves have today swooped to complete the signing of much sought-after striker Kevin Doyle from Reading to help spearhead their return to the Premier League.

"Kevin completed his medical late last night and put pen to paper on a four-year contract to make the move from Berkshire for an undisclosed fee."

It is thought that the Midlands-based side beat off competition from the likes of Aston Villa, Bolton Wanderers, Everton, Fulham and Sunderland to land the 25-year-old.

"I'm delighted to get the move sorted and can't wait to get going," Doyle is quoted as saying.

"I'm sad to be leaving Reading because I had some great years there but I'm going with their blessing as well which is nice.

"Wolves were the first club that actually came in and settled things with Reading and so they were the first club I spoke to.

"It was nice to see how keen they were and when I came in and met the manager I just got on really well with him.

"The facilities here are top class and it's great to be going back into the Premier League again."

The 26-time capped Republic of Ireland international was rumoured to have had a £6.5 million minimum fee release clause in his Reading contract.

Having joined the Royals from Cork City for a fee of around £78,000 in 2005, Doyle scored 56 goals in 163 appearances.
