Johnson Signs For Borough

18 year-old SIMON JOHNSON has signed a contract with Eastbourne Borough and will be part of the first team squad next season.

The Hailsham born midfielder is part of the current England Schools Under 18's
international squad and will be appearing at Wembley on June 13th, when England
take on France for the Bobby Moore Trophy.

So far Simon has won four England caps against Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland
and the Republic of Ireland.

Johnson is a product of the Borough junior section and was part of the Under 18's
that reached the lst round proper of the F.A. Youth Cup, for only the second time in
the Club's history, and finished runners-up in the Sussex F.A. Youth Cup this season.

Simon has made three first team appearances for Borough; two in the Sussex Senior Cup with a debut at Worthing and at home to Crowborough where he scored from the penalty spot. He made his Blue Square Premier debut as a second half subsitute at Woking in January.

Kelly Signs For Oxford

Marcus Kelly has today completed his signing for Oxford United.

The midfielder joined the U’s today. The twenty three year old developed through the youth system at Nene Park and had five years of first team football with the Diamonds, making his debut against Brighton & Hove Albion in 2004.

Season-Long Loan for Green

Oxford United have signed striker Matt Green on a season's long loan from last season`s play-off winners Torquay United.


Green, who had a successful spell with United two season's ago, will now be competing for a starting place up front with James Constable and summer signing Jack Midson at the Kassam Stadium.

Hulbert Becomes a Bluebird

Barrow have signed former Darlington midfielder Robin Hulbert on a two-year-deal.

Hulbert, 29, made thirty-three appearances for the Quakers last season, scoring twice.

He was made available on a free transfer -along with practically the entire squad – when Darlington entered administration.

Hulbert began his career with Swindon Town before spells with Bristol City, Shrewsbury and Telford United took him to Port Vale, whom he left for the Quakers last summer.

Another New Name for Rockingham Road

Blue Square Premier club Kettering Town's ground will be called Elgood's Brewery Arena after a new sponsorship deal.

Rockingham Road was called the A-Line Arena but will change its name for the next two years following the sponsorship by a real ale brewery.

The Poppies revealed this month that they want planning permission to build a new purpose-built stadium at Kettering Business Park.

The club have played at Rockingham Road for 112 years.

Robinson Joins Tynesiders

New boys Gateshead have clinched the signing of experienced left-back Mark Robinson, who has spent the last two seasons at new Blue Square Premier rivals York City.

The 27-year-old Guisborough-born Robinson began his career at Hartlepool United where he made ninety appearances during a six year stay at Victoria Park.

He then spent a season at Hereford United for whom he made forty-four appearances and then played sixty-seven games for Stockport County during a one and a half year period.

The defender's next port of call was Torquay United, and after eighteen appearances for The Gulls he joined York City during the summer of 2007.

He has been a regular at left back for the Minstermen, apart from two months when he was recovering from a broken leg, making seventy-three appearances before he lost his place just before the end of last season under new manager Martin Foyle.

That saw Robinson harshly left out of the York side that lost to Stevenage Borough in the FA Trophy final at Wembley in May, though he was on the bench.

New Deal for Harriers` Keeper

Goalkeeper Dean Coleman has signed a new one-year deal with Blue Square Premier club Kidderminster Harriers.

The 23-year-old former Walsall keeper joined the club in the summer of 2007 but was made to wait until the end of the 2007/08 season before getting a run in the first-team.

Coleman looks set to be Harriers' first choice after Adam Bartlett left to join Hereford United earlier this week.

Brown Leaves Wrexham

Nat Brown has left Blue Square Premier club Wrexham by mutual consent - despite having twelve months left to run on his deal.

The versatile player, at home in defence and midfield, has reached an agreement with the Dragons to terminate his contract by mutual consent.

Brown (pictured), who joined the club last summer when Brian Little was in charge, spent the majority of last season on loan at Coca-Cola League Two side Macclesfield Town having failed to cement a place in Dean Saunders' side.

-Mick Wadsworth,manager del Chester City,a reforzado su equipo con cuatro nuevos nombres:Tim Ryan y Rhys Meynell(defensas),Gregg Blundell(delantero) y Ben Wilkinson(mediocentro).

-El Kettering Town a completado el fichaje del delantero de 27 años Damian Spencer procedente del Cheltenham Town,equipo en el que permaneció durante siete temporadas.

-El Kidderminster Harriers a hecho oficial el nuevo contrato firmado por el joven central Martin Riley.

Luton 1-2 AFC Wimbledon

Gran victoria del Wimbledon a domicilio frente al Luton, cuarto clasificado, los goles del Wimbledon han sido obra de Elder y Kedwell. Con esta victoria los Dons se ponen sextos a solo dos puntos de los play offs.

A ti también te gustan los verdaderos Dons???

La temporada pasada se podian ver y todo los partidos (mas bien los resumenes) en su canal de youtube, lastma que ya no se pueda..que esencia desprende este equipo, de aquel futbol ingles total. Lastima que el cambio de localidad les hiciesen desaparecer pero este AFCW tiene mucho merito y son los fieles seguidores del extinto Wimbledon.

El martes otra salida complicada, visitamos al líder que está comandando con mano de hierro la categoría, el Oxford... a ver que se puede hacer.

Hoy a las 19:45h. (inglesas) se enfrentan el Oxford United y el AFC Wimbledon, primer y sexto clasificado, será un bonito partido seguro y espero que gane el Womble!

Son bajas para el Wimbledon los siguientes jugadores: Luke Moore y Alan Inns (lesionados de larga duración al romperse los ligamentos de la rodilla), Kennedy Adjei por un golpe y Brett Johnson con molestias en la rodilla.

Derrota predecible contra el líder, los play offs se alejan un poco pero bueno, a seguir luchándolos hasta el final. Aunque no logremos entrar en los play offs no será ninguna deblaque ya que es la primera temporada en una categoría nueva.

También me gustan los dons, me aficioné a ellos leyendo y viendo las historietas de la crazy gang, como casi todos supongo, que gran época esa, después sucedió lo que todos sabemos . Al final la temporada pasada no se logró subir pero esta temporada se ha empezado ganando, a ver si logran volver a una categoría más profesional.

El Womble solo tiene la baja del delantero Mark Nwokeji, jugará de local ante el Histon que goleó 3-1 al Barrow en la primera jornada por lo que es el actual segundo clasificado. Espero que gane el Wimbledon y siga con el buen arranque

El Wimbledon ha ganado por 2-0 al Histon, los goles han sido obra de Kedwell y Wellard y los dos llegaron en el tiempo de descuento, antes, en el 80, el Histon se había quedado con diez por la expulsión de Ilesanmi.
